The Dressage Convention debut event last weekend went down a treat if the feedback is anything to go by. Richard and Carl are already looking at feedback and looking forward to developing next years weekend!
But there’s no time to breath at Davison Equestrian as Richard hosts the British Dressage Young Professionals day at his base here in Staffordshire, lots more to learn and hopefully another successful day will be had by all. It’s then off to the Global Forum where Richard hosts another main stay of the dressage calendar.

You can now follow Richard on Twitter to get the latest on what he and the family are up to in the equestrian world.
If there’s one event to put in your diary this year it’s the NEW & EXCITING Dressage Convention for 2013, in association with Horse&Rider Magazine, Classic Dressage and Bury Farm E.V

Dressage superstars Carl Hester and Richard Davison are offering dressage enthusiasts a unique insight into a variety of training methods through a series of practical sessions, lecture demos, panel discussions and questions and answers.

This two-day event, which will take place on October 19th and 20th at Bury Farm in Buckinghamshire, promises to be both educational and thought-provoking and will bring together a number of well-respected trainers and riders, with the aim of exploring and comparing International training methods.

Last week we did a demonstration for Martin Collins at Reaseheath College. Richard rode Aliano to explain our basic training principles and then worked with young grand prix rider Booby Hayler from Essex and Gilian with Alfranco. The second session involved Tom working together with Joe Clayton, Michael Whitaker’s stable jockey. They demonstrated how to introduce grid work with a 6 year old home bred. This included a bounce and varying distances. The second horse Joe jumped was an 8 year old and the session focused on developing a riders ring craft to improve the horse and riders jumping rounds whilst in the competition ring.Olympic rider representing China, Alex Hua Tian, rounded up the demo with a number of exercises he uses to improve his horses cross country rounds.
